Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Göhlich studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and earned his doctorate at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. From 1989 to 2010, he held leading positions in passenger car development at Daimler AG, where his responsibilities included complete vehicle design. Since 2010, he has been head of the Chair of Methods in Product Development and Mechatronics at the TU Berlin. He is also managing director of the Institute for Machine Design and Systems Engineering.

Dietmar Göhlich is a well-established expert in the field of design and methodical development of vehicles and mechatronic systems. His current research focuses on the necessary changes in the development process for the sustainable implementation of additive technologies and a climate-friendly transformation of our transport system. In teaching, he provides students with practical fundamental principles and methods for the design and development of modern and sustainable products.

Dietmar Göhlich is committed to an integrated energy and transport transition and is the spokesperson for the BMBF's Mobility2Grid research campus on the EUREF site in Berlin with a total of 36 participating companies, universities and research institutions. He is also the scientific director of the 3D Technologies Central Facility founded at TU Berlin in 2021. Dietmar Göhlich is, among other things, a member of the board of the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science and a member of the Scientific Society for Product Development (Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft für Produktentwicklung) and the German Academy of Science and Engineering (Deutschen Akademie der Technikwissenschaften).

Dietmar Göhlich is author and editor of numerous publications and guest editor in various journals. As of the 25th edition, he is co-editor of the DUBBEL - Taschenbuch für den Maschinenbau, the standard work for engineers in their studies and profession
