Engineering Design

Design is an engineering activity that effects almost all areas of human life and provides the prerequisites for the physical realisation of products. Thus engineering design is an important component in the product development process. In the Engineering Design lecture fundamental knowledge and important skills will be provided in the areas: sketching and technical drawings, use and function of machine elements, conceptual and embodiment design of mechanical products, and layout calculations.

Fundamentals of engineering design: function, layout, design, manufacture, and assembly; fundamentals of machine elements: use and function; durability of machine elements: load, stress, strain, and failure prediction; conceptual and embodiment Design.
